Gone for a week...sending Marine Son to Africa
Original Message   Feb 11, 2005 8:52 am
Hey Guys,
Just so you don't think I died or something, I'm leaving tomorrow to see my son off to Africa.
He is leaving Camp LeJeune and being deployed to Djibouti Africa for six months to a year or more.

Djibouti, I'm told, is not the most enjoyable place to be. It is the nerve center for counter terrorism intelligence for the middle east, etc.
It is a combat zone, but seems to be far safer then Iraq.  It is on the east coast of Africa, at the southern tip of the Red sea, across from Yemen.

Anyway, see you next week.

I have great respect for the people who serve out country, especially Marines.  I will send along a prayer, and would like to thank him for his great service.  I'm sure if he's like you, he's a great Marine.
