Zero to 200...........wow!
Original Message   Jul 19, 2005 1:59 pm
Dawson and his wife, Jennifer, had been debating buying a
vehicle for weeks. He wanted a truck. She wanted a fast
little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic
around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up
old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of
their price range.

"Look!" she said. "I want something that goes from 0 to 200
in just a few seconds. Nothing else will do. My birthday is
coming up so surprise me!"

Dawson did just that. For her birthday, he bought her a
brand new bathroom scale.

Nobody has seen or heard from him since.

Marshall, no alimony............I think Sherri is on the right track.........methinks his name might also be Earl......

Being one who always believes it is best to live within one's means, I kinda like the guy.  This wife seems a bit "high maintenance".

If he is alive, he is perhaps better off without her.

Proverbs 25:24-  "Better to live on the corner of a roof then to share a house with a nagging wife"............

Frank, I was laughing when I looked up the Proverbs quote you put above. My wife was wondering why I was laughing when I had a bible open in front of me. I then pointed out to her another chapter and verse I came across and she was not amused either. It was Proverbs 27: 15-16.

Pat,
That's great.....

here's the verses Patrick is speaking of.....

Proverbs 27:15
An endless dripping on a rainy day
and a nagging wife are alike.
Verse 16
The one who controls her controls the wind
and grasps oil with his right hand.

here it is in the new living Translation;

15 A nagging wife is as annoying as the constant dripping on a rainy day. 16 Trying to stop her complaints is like trying to stop the wind or hold something with greased hands.

further proof that the Bible really is the book of truth...............

It sure is the greatest book of truth.  Those are some great translations.
