Thinking about Buying a 1983 Suzuki GR650 Motorcycle

Its got 17K miles on it and brand new tires.Â Blue book is $1,200, which is probably what I will pay for it.Â This will be my first bike.

Any thoughts?

wear a full face helmet (bugs and road rash suck)

Â never give people wearing shorts a ride

keep first and second finger on the front brake at all times (lots of front brake, easy on the back-----practice panic stops)

Â never ever trust any driver on a cell phone

be mentally prepared that someday you will go down

you may want to spend a little more for a 1990's bike, with a bike that old, things like rotting fuel lines, stuck bolts, leaking fork seals may costÂ you moreÂ the long run.
