Samsung vs. EPA
What a great idea…antibacterial washing machine. The idea is that silver can kill bacteria found in your clothing, so throw some of this super silver in the wash. Except that the teeny silver particles or silver ions that cause this action in the Samsung washing machine are released into the drainage system.
EPA says this is a no no and have viewed them now as pesticides. Evidently, silver is highly toxic to water life, even at low concentrations. Samsung says they are in dialogue with the EPA and are working to keep the $900 product in line with all EPA regulations.
