The float could just be sticking if the engine hasn't run for a while. I had this happen with a chipper. A vry light rap on the side of the carburetor with a hammer took casre of it.

If the auger that picks up the snow is not turning, you may just have broken or missing shear pins (break away bolts that go through the auger shaft). I'd suggest you check those out.

BCS has a reputation for being a sturdy gear driven machine with alot of optional attachments. I couldn't afford one and went with the less expensive belt driven Troy Bilts. I think some of the older versions had diesel engines. I'd suggest you do some googleing and see what you can find in terms of service and parts. The BCS Web site has a dealer locater. www.bcs-america.com

I don't have any photos, but my 11.5 HP Ariens could easily compete with Borat's Simplicity. I'd go with an Ariens, Simplicity or Toro; Honda if you can afford it.

I'd suggest you check the web sites of the various manufacturers. Ariens and Toro list the distances for theirs. Don't know about the others.
