pet hair/hardwood + carpets

I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, a large parrot, hardwood floors and berber carpets in my house. HELP!
I own 2 "newish" medium priced vacuums that are constantly clogging. I spend more time at repair shop than I do successfully vacuuming! Ideas on best for good suction, gentle on hardwood,gd for pet hair fuzz, HEPA would be nice, all suggestions most welcome.

I have had a lot of vacuums in my lifetime from $75 TO HUNDREDS OF $$$$$ AND YOU CAN NOT find one better for what your asking about than the rainbow vacuum. my mom had one in the early 70's and I have used one since the 80's and most of my family used it. But they are not in the stores and they cost more than the average, but I have saved
alot of money because i dont have to buy bags. I really LOVE the RAINBOW as you can tell. The new RAINBOW does have a HEPA. Lood in the yellow pages for Rainbow vacuum and you'll find a dealer, there all over the USA

Well there are alot of vacuums out there, and with my experiance with about every type of vacuum cleaner out there I have found that the Kirby guaranteed will solve all of your problems. With the Kirby you have all of the attachments you can imagine, the best upright available a very simple to use carpet shampooer,a floor care kit to wax and buff your wood floors and everything in between Granted they to are expensive but I promise you, you get what you pay for. They are designed to last 30-40 years. you tell me that anything out there will out clean a product that has been around since 1906, that has been devoted to quality, excellance, and service for almost a century you can't.

Hey, the best one for that problem would be the Kirby. It's the best upright and canister out there. The Kirby convert into a canister and a portable and also an electric broom for your hard surface floor. It is also two type of shampoo. A portable shampoo for your funiture or spot cleaning and a regular shampoo for your carpet. It's the best you can get. The Rainbow cost alot of money but does it do as much as a Kirby can. No way!!!!

Look into the Miele line of vacuums. They have several models that offer
true HEPA filtration without the hassle of emptying out water and cleaning up your vacuum every time you use it. Their canister vacuums pull over 100" of lift on a suction guage and move 125 to 140 cfm so you are not going to have any problems with clogging up.
