I feel the need to reply to this one. I just returned my Fantom Cyclone after I realized I have not once vacuumed without having to get the screwdriver out. It gave new meaning to the word "clog". Also, it would turn itself off after vacuuming one medium-sized room. Customer service told me it needs to "rest". Yikes. Let's see, what else... The HEPA filter always ran itself halfway up the side before I realized it. Also, the lower back access door was always FULL of very tiny debris - right down there near the motor! And one last thing: One reason I decided to buy the unit was because it had a bare floor setting. I tried it one time on my hardwood floors and have used the broom ever since. 13 months later, I decided I had had enough and returned it to the warehouse store from which I bought it (ignoring the printed warning not to that came with the literature - Fantom preferred that I call customer service and work out problems that way.) To my surprise, the warehouse took it back without question. Why, I asked. Because they have had so many returned! They discontinued them, too. I'm now shopping for something new, and am terrified of making the same mistake!

The Fantom is definitely junk. I would suggest checking out the SEBO German made upright. You can check them out at http://ristenbatt.com. This machine will blow the Fantom away with power, quietness, and efficiency you won't believe.

Please explain specifics, Cameron.
I need no background on the Fantom - I've personally accumultated first hand experiences on that. But I've been researching about four brands of vacuums for the last 4 weeks, Sebo being one of them. Until your post, I've heard nothing but rave reviews - you are the first to call it a "piece of crap". I'd love to hear about your first-hand experiences.

Well Susan it all started about 6 weeks ago, i had heard nothing but great reviews so i decided to get one, i used it a few days and it worked great, and then it started to get overheated after i used it in one room of my businesses, [i own cleaning company's in 5 cities] and then it would not pick up, all of a sudden and started making loud noises, i took a thorough look at it and i could find nothing wrong with it, i did not want to bother with it so i put it down in my basement i contacted the sebo company and they will not help me at all! all i did was waste my time and money

As with anything else produced by humans, it's possible you got a bad machine from the start. That's why there are "warranties". If you purchased the machine from a reputable dealer there should be "NO" problem in getting the machine repaired or replaced.

You yourself even said "it worked great" for the short time it did work. Common sense would dictate you should return it back to the dealer and rectify the problem. I can't believe you would just give up and throw a brand new machine down in the basement and forget about it. There seems to be more to your story than you are telling us??
