FloorMATE H3000 vs. H3030, H3040, H3060
Original Message   Jan 28, 2010 8:12 pm
which FloorMATE is the best?  So many to choose from; but some stores say 1 is better than the others.  Where can I buy a new H3000?  Or a nice pre-owned H3050 or H3060?  I'd like to get the H3060 cuz it has a detail kit & 15" WidePath or are the 13" FMs better?  Which is the better deal?

why can't I use Pine-Sol with the Floormate?  I like the smell of Pine-sol better than Hoover Floor/Floor detergent; its cheaper too.

If I recall correctly, the HOOVER  FM User Guide says not to use substitutes and may even mention Pine-sol by name.

yes Hoover says not to use Pine-Sol but I think its safe just as long as its been diluted before putting into the clean water tank of a Floormate.  Pine-sol is what I use on my Floor-a-matic when I wash the floors.

Where can I find parts for the Scrub N' Vac?  It seems like that one link no longer carries parts for them; I still need the squeegee & the defoamer "cake" & a set of scrubing brushes/green scrubbies too.

Having a Floor-A-Matic makes me regret getting a FloorMate despite my raves for the FM since its introduction in 2001 (YES, I still have a never-used blue FAM my parents bought back in the 1970s)  I let the floors get really dirty then scrub them with my good ol' Scrub N' Vac!

can the H3030 grout brush fit my H3000 FloorMATE?  The white brushes don't seem to get into the grout & the grey brushes are the same as the white ones of bristle length but stiffer; but neither set of brushes touch the grout lines.

btw when will the new & improved 15" Widepath Floormate w/tools be available?  All I see is the 13" w/tools (FH40030) & 13" w/o tools (FH40010)

Pine-Sol can cause the plastic in the tank to discolor (turn whiteish)  May cause leaks in the tank itself, and being a solvent can damage the seals and hoses internally.  Bissell also specifically states Pine-sol as a Do Not Use.

Just thought that I would mention it is passing.  Pine-sol besides being very foamy when churned up in a Rainbo's basin will also discolor the clear plastic there as well.
