Looks like the blade was an early prototype of the Meg-mo.

According to a collector website maytagclub.com, "A Maytag powered lawnmower. Maytag only made one Mower however the Maytag Multimotor was used by many manufacturers."

Didn't Jacobsen have a blade similar to this a ways back?

I remeber my friend's father had a Jacobsen with a "disk-type" blade with four cutters.

The blades are sickle bar blades like those used in ag equipt (ie haybines, combines etc.)
