Re: New Washing Machine
#1   Aug 11, 2005 11:14 pm
We've had the Whirpool Duet washer and dryer almost 3 years now. The dryer is stacked on top of the washer to save space. So far we had one service call for the washer. It turns out that one of the baby's socks clogged the drain. Of course wifey didn't believe me when I told her to use a mesh laundy bag for the baby's socks way back when or else... *sigh*.... why don't they listen?

At this point the washer isn't as quiet as it used to be in high spin mode. The drum seems to be unbalanced 6 out of 10 times resulting in having to stop the machine and rebalance the load. PIA! It shouldn't be like that. Thing is, being a front loader, you have no control over it. Top loader yes as you can spread the load evenly. For crying out loud!!!!!

Oh well.... we'll see....  It's starting to get on my nerves. May have to pull it and open it up and see what alll the racket is about.

Social security

Having reached the age of 65, I went to apply for
Social Security last week.  After waiting in line for
a very long time, I finally got to the counter.

The woman there asked me for my driver's license to
verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized, to
my great dismay, that I had left my wallet on the
nightstand in my bedroom I told the lady that I was
very sorry, but I seemed to have left my wallet at
home. "I'll have to go get it and come back later," I
said.   At that point, she said to me, "Unbutton your
 shirt."

I was confused, but I opened my shirt, revealing lots
of curly silver hair.  She said, "That silver hair on
your  chest is proof enough for me," and, with that,
 she promptly processed my application.
When I got home, I couldn't wait to tell my wife about
my experience at the Social Security Office. She
listened to the whole story and then said, "You should
have dropped your pants . . . you might have gotten
 disability, too."

Ramit, so you go take your pick on Friday eh? Well guess what..... the weather folks are going to change their weather forecast for this winter to "no snow at all this upcoming winter" on Saturday.

Good choice of machine.  Best of luck with it.

Every once in a while I'll look towards the north to watch out for that mushroom cloud you'll probably be setting off.

With your luck , the day I come back from vacation will be the same day the cable guy shows up.
