Re: Brand New Singer SST

Yep I did check to make sure there were no blockages, it seems like the vacuum was probably used as a store display, because when it arrived it was basically brand-new, it even had that fresh out of the box odor.  Overall I feel its a great vacuum that could have been a lot better with a well designed brush roll. I'm going to try and not use it much because the parts for vacuum are no longer available. Pictures of it are below:

Brand New Singer SST
#2   Nov 11, 2008 2:33 pm
I won a brand new Singer SST  Twin fan vacuum on Ebay. For some reason I have always wanted one of these babies ever since I first saw one at my daycare which was nearly 20 years ago. I believe it was this vacuum that started my fascination with vacuum cleaners. Anyway I turned it on and the suction on it is ridiculous, especially on high speed, but my question is, which is the normal mode to vacuum, is it high or low?

OMG!!!!I agree with you, the prices are ridiculous, $799.00 for a plastic Kenmore hand me down. I'm hoping the prices of these machines are up to par on quality but at first glance it honestly doesn't look like it.

Check out their newly redesigned machines at www.oreck.com.

I assume the motors are the same, but has anyone tried these out by chance?

Thanks for the replies I ended purchasing the Lindhaus 14inch and I don't regret a thing.
