Central Vac making high pitched whine (Read 126 times)

Vic Guest	Central Vac making high pitched whine 03/22/01 at 1:45am Hi all.. I just bought a house that had a VacuMaid central vac installed. I just tried it for the first time and after about 30 seconds of use an incredibly load whine came from the attachment (hardwood floor nozzle), even when using on carpet. I purchased a new floor attachment and got the same results. Any ideas? Thanks...

Bruce Guest	Noise Reply #3 - 03/22/01 at 6:36pm Does the high pitched whine originate from the actual floor attachment? Does it go away when you take the attachment off the wand? Is the attachment a turbo powered floor tool or just straight suction tool? And is it the original equipment manufacturers attachment? With more information I might be able to offer some answers.

CAMERON Guest	Re:Re:Re:Central Vac making high pitched whine Reply #4 - 03/23/01 at 3:20am Try looking it over with a magnifying glass it might be a tiny crack or irregularity, this happens sometimes, and makes a very loud noise from air off balance
