Best Vaccum?
12/17/00 at 3:41pm

Hi.  I need some advice- salesmen please do not reply- I am looking for some objective advice.  I have dog with long hair who spends a lot of time in the house.  I also have an Oreck vaccum which is useless- the narrow tube up which the dirt has to travel for the top-fill bag clogs every three minutes and requires tools and time to take apart and clear.  So my question is- what type of vaccum do I need?  An old-fashioned canister type might be best, but do they even make them any more?  Any objective advice appreciated.

I just bought a Kirby G-Six from a very nice sales lady at Kirby her name is Marcia, you can have her demonstrate it for you, If you are in Illinois, the kirby has a pet groomer attachment, and a very wide hose, in the bag, so I am sure that the pet hair will not clog in your hose, the hose is probably 10 times larger than the one you have, and the Kirby last anywhere from 30 yo 40 years, It also is made of die cast metal, and the motor itself is closed in, it has a 2.0 horsepower motor, I don't know why I didn't know about this before, It's not just a vacuum, it a total home cleaning service right at your fingertips, it's an air compressor, drain declogger, inflater, shampooer, drapery cleaner, and so much more, there's nothing that you can buy in the store, that has the suction power Kirby has, they will also ship, you a Kirby, it'll be worth the price, and then some, I think the price is too low, for all the things, it'll do, but If you give them some referrals, they'll give you a discount, the number to that office is 847-364-6852 it's in Arlington Heights Ill. so If you really want something that can get the job done, and save you some money in the long run, invest in a Kirby you owe it to yourself, tell Marcia, Meriweather sent you...

Yes, the Kirby vacuum cleaners are probably very nice but how much did it cost you?  My problem with Kirby is that they always seem to cost almost a month's salary for a normal person.  I have a Hoover Windtunnel (self-propelled since it was a present from my well-to-do brother).  It's a wonderful vacuum except that it also clogs easily.  I used to have a fantom but I never liked it.  Cleaning the bagless cartridge was always a mess and it just didn't seem to pick up very well.  I bought the Hoover because consumer reports rated it as one of the best for suction.  However, the fantom never gave me the problems with blockage that the Hoover does.  Is there one vacuum out there that does it all?  You'd think they could create just one!

Don't be fooled and fall for a Kirby. They are WAY overpriced and are still designed from back in the early 1900's.  If you really want the best upright vacuum look into a SEBO.  It is made in Germany and will beat the pant's off anything you've seen or will see.  The price is right at under $500.00.  Check it out.

Clint, how many vacumms do you sell in a week.  whayt is your nbr one seller.  It is obvious you are a salesperson.  We do not want salespeople advise but advise from people who really use the product. that is what I thought this forum was all about.
