Auger Drive Parts for Dynamark Snowblower
#1   Dec 19, 2005 10:03 am
I doubt if Dynamark is one of the premier brands for snowblowers, but I have acquired one that need a little work.
The 2-stage machine was built by Western International and it is a Dynamark Model 5361-4600, Code 6224 and Serial Number 390836.
I believe it has an 8 hp Tecumseh engine that starts and runs well.
The auger is not functional but the other stage is. The shaft forward to the auger gear functions.  This means the problem is in the auger gear assembly where the input shaft rotation is turned 90 degrees into the auger shaft rotation.  With any good luck a key has simply sheared. With bad luck a gear has broken.
Question 1:  How do I get the little auger gearbox out and apart?
Question 2: If I need a part such as a worm gear, where can I get one?  A quick web search indicates that Briggs and Stratton bought Murray who owned Dynamark which has resulted in Murray/Dynamark  parts availability issues.
Question 3: Are there snowblower  bone yards out there where I can get an inexpensive part used?
Question 4: Does anyone have a repair manual they could sell me?  The B&S takeover has made repair manuals hard to find as well as other parts.
TIA
