Honda Harmony 2013 riding mower Steering trouble
#1   Apr 1, 2008 3:51 pm
Hello all, my father turned this mower over last summer, our back yard has a really steep grade to it and the brakes went out on the mower, when this happend the mower sped down the hill backwards, make a long story short he turned it on its side right befor the treeline i had to do some small engine maint. to it to get it back to running right but one problem that has now arrived is since the turnover it has become hard to steer the mower, mainly when steering to the right it is near impossible to get it to turn the wheels at its full radius that it should turn, turning to the left is a bit easier but still very very stiff.... both me and my dad are pretty good working on cars/trucks small engines... but we cant for the life of us figure out what the deal is with the steering, the whole setup for the steering is rather simple and after looking at it in great detail we both can figure why it has become so stiff.... the actual steering wheel has some play in it after the turnover but we dont see how that would effect the actual steering.... i have the thing up on blocks atm and i am open to any ideas anyone has on what the problem could be... i wish i could give more info but not sure what else i could give, i have searched allot on the web the past few days with no luck as far as anyone else having this problem with the 2013, but anyway i could use any help possible would hate to take the mower to a repair shop due to we love to work on mowers and things of that nature ourselves and learn how to do something we didnt know befor but we are about at ends meet with this and looking at probably takeing the mower into the shop our yard has gotten way to high :P to just keep knockin our heads against a wall.... anyway any help would be great we are all ears to try anything thank you for your time.
