Excellent performer for the price. In all respects the HOOVER TEMPO mirrors the HOOVER WT Supreme save price and weight. The MSRP for the TEMPO is $70 vice $140 for the WT Supreme. Weight and bulk is less for the TEMPO too: 16 pounds. No tool storage compartment on the TEMPO like the WT. But tools store on board with pressure clamps and tools are the same as WT Supreme. Uses the same WT bags: Style Y. Large capacity. About $2-$3 per bag for Allergen paper depending on the retailer. Headlamp. Full bag indicator. Barefloor setting. And manual rug height adjustment. Agitator, belt and motor amps same as the WT Supreme. Carry handle and stair cleaning handle, just like WT. Also quieter than the WT. Perhaps because the WT has an exhaust/post motor filter that is removable/replaceable and mounted on the outside of the bag housing and accessible with a screen door. The TEMPO post motor filter is accessible/removable from inside the bag housing.

BTW, I purchased the same TEMPO Model in white from KOHL's. Model number UH30015. Used the 30 percent off option with free shipping and the final price was $56 plus. Too good to pass up a second [and who knows maybe a third and more]. Major difference is the agitator. The BEST BUY TEMPO has the traditional WT agitator. The KOHL's TEMPO has a round wood brush roll and bristles which is very similar to EUREKA Whirlwind uprights.

Date Purchased: Oct 2008
Price Paid: $70
Recommend: Yes
Pros:
Performance on rugs and barefloors is excellent. Lightweight. Easy to use/manuever. In performance, almost identical to the HOOVER WT which is the gold standard for rug cleaning and grooming. Tool suction is excellent. The tools [crevice, upholstery and round brush] have the HOOVER logo engraved on them. Nice touch. HOOVER TEMPO is and has been one of the best vacuums made for the money. Compares favorably with all the best brands and models on the market costing more than 10 times the price. Ideal for a primary user/second vacuum for upstairs/down. One year unconditional warranty by maker.

Cons:
Catalina Blue color: While nice it has been around for awhile on the HOOVER TEMPO. Wands store on the side of TEMPO. Prefer the storage on the back like the WT. Cord is 24 feet but almost 3 feet is lost by the two cord locks on the machine. On/off switch is on the TEMPO's bag housing. Prefer it closer to handle grip, like the WT. If the upholstery tool is not stored correctly on board [cleaning opening toward the wands' storage] it will fall off when hose/tools are in use. Top cord wrap hook doesn't snap tightly in place. It does on the the WT. I find loose top hook wraps is a common occurence on these HOOVER models. User Manual that came with the TEMPO is for a WT. Should be a TEMPO User Guide which I downloaded from the HOOVER web site. Obviously both the TEMPO and WT Supreme models are very similar save price. The User Guide for the KOHL's TEMPO does not have a specific model name saying only "Owner's Manual."
