How good are these vs. a 1205 or Super J?  Should I trade either the 1205 or SJ or buy w/o trade; or stick with what I got?

Classic is a good machine. Better than 1205 and Super J. More power and power nozzle is the latest.  I liked the 1205 when they were out but improvements thru the years is what  I go for. Motors have improved.  1205 came out in 1968-1974, Super J came out 1974-1978. I have quite a few customers that have Classics- no problem- and satisfied . All I see them for are bags and after filters.

The question I would recommend to any consumer is what's the best vacuum you can get for the money you're planning to spend.   Let's suppose you can get a Classic for $750 (*I'm just making up a price for discussion purposes).  What are some of the best canister vacuums in the less than $750 price range?

Does anyone know if the Classic has any lights on the body like the legacy models, such as bag change, no bag, power, etc?

Thanks,

Hi Bud,

The classic does not have a display panel, But has a bag lock out switch, and a therm protector.

How loud is the Classic?  Actually, I'm going for a pre-owned one from eBay or Goodwill; anywhere that I'll pay a fraction of retail price.
