So I'm getting on of these soon.
Original Message   Jul 21, 2010 2:33 am
http://miraclemate.com/innovations.html I can't wait! For free! From a VERY nice lad over at Vacuumland.org He also as a VitaVac - for free - you just pay the shipping. He has over like 100+ vacuums and simply doesn't have room for these; not to mention he got them for free. So I snagged the Miracle Mate, and it's on it's way. Anybody else have any experience with these machines? I've heard their built like TANKS (literally almost :P) and are basically a TriStar with a better overall design - at least from what I can see. The best part is I'm getting the Lindhaus powernozzle! Here's his original vacuumland post: http://www.vacuumland.org/TD/THREADS/MODERN/9427.htm?2 Anyways, I'm SOO Excited B) Get jealous B), haha jk. No really though please TELL ME ALL if anybody has any experience with these machines. If anybody would like pics and a review I would be happy to do so; at least I would tell my impressions of the machine, for sure B)

Miracle Mate is an extension of an interesting idea but mine is on a shelf somewhere in the house.  I liked the cleaner due to its cast metal build same as with the Patriot and Air Storm, TriStar and Vortech Force (plastic mold I think).  The blast from the inlet in the bag chamber keeps a partial area of its bag wall clean ensuring a good run for your money suctionwise before you have to change the bag.

However, the new UV filter is merely a gimmick to encourage germophobes to lay out a lot of cash for what will provide little actual result.  Miracle Mate vacuum usually sell or are pushed for well over a grand.  If the person you're dealing with is letting you have it for sifnificantly less -- he's hard up.  And I would think so considering the times.  If you're buying it at standard price, don't forget about all of us here -- Christmas is coming.

Miracle Mate's UV filter ploy surprises me in that, first, since it's powered by the PN outlet you can only get benefit of it during staright suction cleaning and not for while doing carpets.  If it were that ingenious an invention, I'd want to have it on hte cleaner while I was cleaning.  You may say, "But it's supoosed to be used just for air filtration," and I would counter secondly that this machine is not quiet enough for that purpose.  Also not that the UV add-on bypasses the final filter system, that being three ehaust filters -- one in the lid of the blower cover and one for each of the two side exhaust vents.  For air filtration duty that means it's advisable to have a fresh bag in place to lessen the possibility of dust transmission into the area it's used in.

The UV light thing only claims to kill germs -- not filter the air as well.

The main flaw here is that no documentation is provided.  Same as with the Halo vacuum, mere reference to UV light being used for sanitizing in this or that situation is of no use to the average consumer.  Why?  Because when UV light is seriously used for the purpose of sanitizing in medical institutions it is employed in a controlled fashion.  As an instance, when UV is applied within a specific area that area is sealed off and UV application is TIMED. It's all thought out  -- size of area x output level of the UV source determining the amount of time required  for effective application.  And I'm sure that applies for all UV employment whether it be sterilizing blood or food stuffs or area/implement sanitization.

UV use with vacuum cleaners leads to no sale around here unless you can base your claims on specifics.  If you tell me what speed to push the vacuum at or if the machine claims to have a power drive set to move the machine at a specific rate that ensures x-exposure time to UV that will kill x-amount of bacteria or microscopic critters you might get my ear.  Though they cleverly note that airflow is slowed down and made to travel around te bulb in the UV chamber, they give no specifics as to the time need to clean a cubic foot of air.  You know what?  I'd bet good money that they can't.

The idea of using a vacuum as an air filter/purifier has been around almost since the vacuum was invented.  Even Electrolux printed it on their product boxes.  I have owned Filter Queen, AirWay and Rainbow -- all companies who at one time or another have put forth the matter in sales pitches -- and found it a waste of time and most  likely money.  Not forgetting unnecessary wear and tear, why would I run a 10 amp machine for the merely the purpose of air cleaning when there are machines better designed to do the same with less cost and noise?  I'd also think that an air cleaner in home heating/ventialting system would do more but cost less and be less bother.

Oh dont get him started. The next thing Hertz will be doing is powering up a Dyson 24 hours a day just to filter his home. Well I guess thats 11 out of 12 being put to good use.

He's actually very honest and it's currently in transit to my house. Did you even read the link I posted to his initial Vacuumland post? He has over 100+ Lux's, Hoovers, and Kirbys and simply not only doesn't have space for this, but he got this machine for free and now he simply wants to move it on to someone who would love to have one. RARE event, sure, but it's the real deal. I'm getting it for $42 bucks. Keep in mind he didn't pay a dime for this, and he obviously has that "heart" to simply give it away to another passionate collector. You should keep his e-mail handy, too, Venson, maybe he'll separate from a Vac you would like for minimal cost. He only has a VitaVac left AFAIK, and he's going to give that one away for free + shipping, as well. I would have jumped on that, but given I'm low on cash this Miracle Mate - and I've *ALWAYS* wanted one of these beautiful machines, not to mention the Lindhaus PN it's coming with - will suffice, for now. haha.

At least it would be better than powering up a SEBO to filter my home, at least given Miele's tests. You need to stop having a whiny fit over this subject, for your own sake man! But ToucheŽ, so say the least, haha.

MM you forget I have more than one SEBO and Miele in my collection. Whatever I use, it uses a bag!

THen it would lose suction, that's a stupid idea Vacmanuk; I thought you were at least remotely intelligent of such matters. You're slipping on me here.

MIRACLE MATE RECEIVED!!! All I can say is ****WOW**** - the build quality and fit and finish of this machine is FAR beyond that which I have ever encountered - besides Kirby, but it even surpasses my FQ D31X in overall build quality I would say. It's VERY solid with a beautiful, high quality powder-coated aluminum enclosure with just superb fit and finish - it's like imagine a Miele made out of metal - it's "that" style of fit and finish and quality. The suction seems to be lower than my Miele and Dyson, or like a Lux Silverado or maybe a Marquis, but maybe I just haven't gotten "used" to it yet. The filtration seems awesome, however the power nozzle is PIA to use - MUCH prefer the Miele's easier steering. If I had to choose between a Dyson, Miele, or MM, I would probably pick the MM, then Dyson, then Miele, but because Dysons are readily available, I would go with a Dyson overall just for bagless sake, however the quality and VERY cheap, NON-bleached paper bags this machines uses is also just awesome. Best bagged machine I've ever used fit and finish and build quality wise. People, I found this crazy deal on Vacuumland.org. Head over there now to maybe find deals you seriously wouldn't find anywhere else (besides maybe craigslist).

Are they cheaper by the dozen?
