I opine that means the vacuum's suction pulls from all sides in a radial swath not just from the front of the opening itself.  Sounds impressive.  500 watts for such a small lightweight hand held is in itself "radical."  500 watts is comparable to the watts of full size upright vacuums of years past like the HOOVER Convertibles and the competitors of that era.

Radical suction Means it has mad suction.

Put into a sentence, Man that thing has some mad suction. meaning real good

The model G Lux used a 535 watt motor , had about 60 in of h20 lift.
Close to that in a hand vac would indeed be 'radical' suction, just keep plenty of the bags on hand!

I'm guessing it has a cloth bag with paper inserts available as an option.

Carmine,

It's been at least a year or more since I last saw one, if memory is correct, I believe it only had the paper insert.  I have one of their compact stainless steel canisters, (the one that looks like a big thermos bottle) it has both the cloth and paper bag, in addition to the hepa filter which is infront of the motor.   A couple of years ago, give or take, I spoke with Metropolitan and they advised that they had just put in a newer more powerful motor in their hand vacs.

            Hi Turtle:

Not sure yet.  Have to wait to see.  I use an old HOOVER Swingette [now called porta power] from the 70's for vacuuming the dog and the work bench in garage.  It has one full horse power as opposed to the metro with .75 HP.  My SIL needs a hand held for the cars.  With 3 girls 6 and under and another on the way, lots of stuff in the vehicles after trips.  The metro should be just what the car doctor orders.

FYI, I have what seems to be an older version of this, it's called the "Metro Vac N' Go" model, (manufacturer's link: http://www.metrovacworld.com/Shopping/product.asp?catalog_name=metrovac&product_id=VACNGO), and it's one compelling feature is it runs off a 12V vehicle power connector, and is 'fairly powerful' in doing that. 'Fairly Powerful' is all relative, a high end vac would put this to shame, but for 12V it does the job of picking up dust and loose pieces of dirt and debris.

I like the model I got because the manufacturer had a nice assortment of mini small nozzles and crevice tools available ($8 US for small kit) that reach in to tight spaces in a vehicle. I also got some 4 foot extension hoses to make it easier to use.  In fact, I likes it so much I got a second one for a second vehicle.

This website (http://www.office1000.com/discount/vacuum-cleaners-automotive.html) sells most Metro Vacs at nice reasonable discounts off list, but I do not see the newer Metropolitan 500 model listed yet, nor do I see the 12V version of the 500 Model on the manufacturer's website yet (http://www.metrovacworld.com).
