Re: Motor replacement for Lux Epic canister

Mole, you be nice!!

I hate to burst your bubble when it comes to motor replacement, but I think I would replace the vac instead.  When it comes to motors, I have seen the same motor in the Reni/8000 and the Epic 6500.  Stick your finger in the end of the hose on a 6500, nice and powerful, do the same on the Reni/8000 style, not much there.  I swear it is the bag chamber, as if you look at the reni/8000, the bag gets nearly sucked to the wall, the ridges are very shallow, whereas on the other lux machines, the ridges are more pronounced.

Just me two cents worth though.

Mole,

Thanks for your help.  I'll P.M. you with the prices I'm paying on the brushes.

I wonder if the price drop on the Perfect/Lux is going to be permanent, or just a promotion??

Lux power nozzle replacement brushes

Any suggestions for a good replacement brush for pn5, 6 and later Aerus/Lux power nozzles??  I like the current Aerus replacement, but don't like the price.  Have tried Cleveland Woods, not bad, but a little stiffer than I'd like.  There's one that the brush dowel is plastic, but the bristles are way too stiff.  The current perfect canister has a close replica to the current Aerus, but the perfect is way too stiff as well.  Too stiff of brush can cause the carpet fibers to fuzz.  Any suggestions??

Re: Eureka Style K Bags for 900 series (rotomatic) Any Available??

Venson,

Thanks for the SVC link, yes, they have them, but they told me that they custom make the bag.  Don't know how they do this, but would be interesting to see.

In regards to the GE replacement bags, already tried it, not quite wide enough.  Thought it was a good idea too.

Out of all the dealers and wholesalers I've been told to contact, only SVC Vacuum was able to help!

Eureka Style K Bags for 900 series (rotomatic) Any Available??

I checked with Eureka, no longer available, checked with a few distributors, no generic bags available either. These fit the ancient 900 series models (rotomatic) Are there any substitutes a guy could use instead??
