10 h.p. tecumseh

have a 10 h.p. tec vert. shaft motor for a 30" rider tvxl220 157246b ser.20764,eletric start. Broken fiber governer gear. took another gear off of a ventilated motor. Couldn't find any numbers on the shroud at all. Just has formula xlic 10 h.p. tecumseh, this is a pull start. Everything looked the same, put gear on and can't get the sump to go any closer than 1/4" to 3/8" to the block. The little ball shaped piece that is on an eccentric gear, starts going in place. The pins are also lined up. Where does the governer shaft, (the "L" shaped) piece go? does it ride inside,so that it lifts the gear up? (Motor is sitting on the fly wheel) Or does it just ride on the bottom of the gear? Then when the motor is right side up the L shaped piece lifts the gear so the weights fly out. Motor ran great until this happened.
Thanks for the help

The above question is the same as mine! model 294777 type 0108-01 code 89112111. Craftsman AWS 14h.p. vanguard. 4952 Cleaned the passages in the bowl screw with bread wrapper wire, took out needle valve and sprayed carb cleaner all
thru the carb. Silly question!!does the solenoid need to be grounded to the frame or motor? Should there be an
audible click when you turn the key on and off? Am jumping off of my truck cause I wore battery down.

Go buy a turkey baster. Long plastic tube with rubber bulb at the top. Squeeze bulb, stick in tank, suck up the old gas-repeat till empty. Put old gas in car or truck.Gets diluted down pretty good.

I currently have 2-8 h.p. motors. #1 has BIG hole in the side!!!. #1 hmsk80 155701v (h) ytpxs3182bf dom 0172 r this has the extended cam shaft.
#2 junk yard find. hm80 155541p (b) dom 5173 d
My ? will the side plate with the oil tube interchange from #1 fit onto #2? Also will the cam shaft interchange and run? I need to find out before- buying a gasket set and cleaning the carb.
