What are my options for sound with a plasma TV?

Phillips Magnavox is currently the only Plasma TV manufacturer that incorporates speakers built into the plasma television unit. However, almost all other manufacturers offers speakers which can be attached to the side of the unit as options. The plasma TV generally will offer between 7 and 8 watt amplifiers, which comes from the built in amplifier in the unit. This amount of wattage is more than enough for premium sound output. With new technology also advancing in the sound and digital industry, many people often connect their plasma TVs to high tech stereo equipment. In general there are two different routes to adding sound to your Plasma Television.
  • The purchaser can purchase the standard, stock speakers which attach to the sides of the Plasma monitor.
  • The purchasers can upgrade from the slim speakers and use satellite speakers. Other speakers can be used to fit the purchaser's preference. Sound is an important component of any entertainment system, thus many people tend to choose to upgrade their speakers to provide the "real-life" effect while enjoying watching sporting events, movies, etc.
