Stihl FS250R Review

Last year, I bought a FS250R trimmer. This is a commercial unit mind you. I bought it because I wanted something that would last. Unlike the cheapo units that last for one year and crap out. I also wanted something that would be powerful. So this is what I found out about my new purchase.

It really is easy to start! If you start it using standard procedure, it starts on first pull every time! This trimmer has a 40.2cc engine on it. Because its a high performance engine, it requires the use of premium gas mixed at a 100:1 ratio. It will run on regular mixed, but the engine will make little pops allot and will not rev up right. I also like the fact that the engines spark plug is located on the top of the engine, this allows you to not spill fuel all over it if it! The fuel tank holds allot of gas. Meaning, you can use it for long periods.

The engine is quiet and burns clean! I never had to use the full power of the engine yet. It has more than enough for standard jobs. The trimmer will work in any operating position including upside down lol.(I had to try) Besides the easy start system, it also comes with a trigger lock on the on/off switch. Locking the throttle in operating position, also allows for easy starts.

This trimmer can use many attachments. The trimmer comes with the tools nessesary to remove the autocut head and install a blade. For example, I bought a brush blade for it, only took 1 minute to remove the head and install the blade, very easy! But remember, it does not come with a blade kit, so you have to buy that in order to use a blade on it. This trimmer is also easy to clean!

To sum it all up. Power, Quality, Durability, Easyness to use, were all the things I was looking for in a product, and this has it. But, as a plus, the trimmer looks really cool too! Thank you Stihl for such a well made product.
