Well,I finally did it. The old riding mower died;so I went and bought a Husqvarna GTH2448T with a snowblower. I'm getting soft in my old age. Hope this's as good as some have told me.
My son will be the new owner of my 3 y.o. Toro snowblower. He'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

I read a lot of posts that blame poor setup for a lot of problems. This makes me wonder how much setup is involved. When I bought my Toro a few years agoI had to buy it online because I couldn't find any locally due to a big storm that cleaned everyone out.

When it was delivered i had to assemble the handle, tractiong control linkage, chute control rod,and headlight.  Then it was just a matter of checking the tires and skid height, and filling the engine with gas & oil. I'm hardly a qualified mechanic,so it seems that anyone that can read should be able to setup a snowblower.

Problems such as belts, etc.would seem to be the manufacturer's problem, not the dealer's; unless it specifically relates to setup for that particular brand. I know that they are covered in the manual, but not under setup,so it falls back on the manufacturer.

On my old Bolens I used something called Sno-Jet.  Worked great!  So far I've had no problems with mey Toro that I  bought in '03

I've been using a leaf blower for a couple of years to clean off the light dustings we sometimes get. Works great. Ice is usually so bonded to the driveway that I haven't tried it for that.

Yeah, it works well for light dusitings and I clear the car too.  Also, I use it to dry the car after using the power washer.

 Hi Paul,

Hey, I wish you had used a different Subject title.  I recommend Toro to my friends.     I have a 2003 PowerMax,and am happy with it.  Snowcab plus weight kit.

" New Toro snowblower already broken "  really looks bad at first glance.     The odds of that spring breaking must be almost astronomical, and I don't think Toro's QC could have noticed a defect.   Glad to hear it wasn't anything more serious, and that your dealer took care of you.

Hope you have many years of easy snow removal in your future,
