Here in Nova Scotia, we get lots of snow.....a couple of years ago we got 95cm in one storm, but that is rare. Most storms leave 6 -12" of white crap.

Anyway I bought a new house with a big driveway and have been looking around at home depot/sears/canadian tire/walmart...etc.

I have pretty much narrowed my choices down to the Toro 828 LXE or 826 LE or the Ariens 11528LE Deluxe or 926LE Deluxe or 926DLE Professional.

The Toro's have the standard L -Head engine as with the deluxe Ariens. While the Professional Ariens have the OHV.

I really like the chute control on the Toro. everytime I've seen the Ariens chute control in the showrooms it gets buggered up.

The Toro balance seems slightly better. And the Freewheel steering seems pretty cool on the Toro, But the Ariens look and feel bullet proof in construction.

So what is the opinion on the L-Head engine vs. the OHV....is it that big a deal or advantage???
