What camera to purchase?

I am looking to purchase a digital camcorder. Any suggestions as to what would be the best camera to buy. I was looking at the Sony DVD301 Camcorder as it uses the 8mm DVD disc as opposed to the tapes. Looks like it is a little easier to create a disc from.
