what happins if you load a generator above rated limit
Original Message   Nov 3, 2012 9:27 am
I'm looking a Honda EU 2000 generator. They are rated at 1600 watts and max at 2000 watts. What will happen if I put a 1700-1800 watt load on it for a long time. Will it cause premature failure?

IIRC... no more than 30 minutes at full capacity on the EU2000i.
