Ariens ST11528LE light doesn't work
Original Message   Jan 20, 2010 12:55 am
Is there an on/off switch or do I need to change the bulb?  Or ???

This machine belongs to a neighbor who passed away - his widow said I can use it all I want.  I have the manuals but I can't find anything about this particular problem.

Thanks in advance...

Dave

dave try jiggling the wires they get lose some times.
If you have a dc test light you can check for power where the light plugs in.
If it's not the bulb I would suspect a wire or crude on a connection( not making good contact.)

The ST11528 does not have a switch for the light. Check to see if one of the wires to it has been disconnected. Maybe the pre owner did not like the light on in daylight and was saving light for when he needed it.

Thank you both for your suggestions - I removed the bulb and could see that the filament was broken, so the mystery is solved.  We got a foot of snow today so can't get to an auto parts store to get another one so I guess I won't be able to move any snow after dark.

I cleared everything just in time, so I'll be able to take another run at it in the morning if we get more overnight as predicted.

Thanks again

Dave

Yes, a foot of snow... but that was yesterday.  Another 7-11 inches today, and another 10-16 inches tonight.  YIKES!  The bad news is that it is very wet, heavy snow and it rains on and off making the snow that much heavier.

Believe it or don't - we're in California in a mountain resort community about 90 miles east of Los Angeles.
