Jerry, I also like to wait until the storm is over and the plows are through before snow blowing. I had to do some blowing into the wind and got a face full, which is why I like to use a ski mask. With your gravel conditions I think I would leave the skid shoes set high all the time, and clean up with a shovel afterward. Good luck!
