JD 445 PROBLEMS WITH FORWARD AND REVERSE
Original Message   May 5, 2008 9:45 am
I have a JD 445 Tractor lawn mower. I was having problems with the
reverse,It would go forward and real slow backwards and it would steer
badly.

I changed the oil and the filter it did the same thing.
I then adjusted the pedal linkage to have the reverse pedal be able to
go down further.
Worked for a while now its back to the same problem. I think when it
gets hot the pump may not be working correctly. Someone told me to
check the valve it may be stuck in the middle. I am taking the deck
down and out of the way so I can see things allot better. How would you
go about checking a valve,i see there is a lot of grease and oil over
this valve.I know it is leaking because of this.

Any help would be appreciated
