Ariend 8526 trouble

Hi: Greeting from Connecicut .I have a new Ariens 8526 which I bought last year from HD . It is basically new, worked great last year. Tried all morning to get it to start. Here's my settings: 1) Fuel switch is on 2) Choke is on full. 3) Throttle set for cold (one position up from stop) 4) Primer button pushed five times (while covering vent hole) 5) There is fuel in the tank Tried both the elec start and the hand pull, it will not start. Everytime I push the primer bulb, fuel spills out on the ground from a spring loaded pin type thingy. It almost started a few times with the elec start, but it would not keep running. Any suggestions? Thanks!

THanks to all who replied. Old fuel was not a factor, but I finally got it to start using two tricks: I pumped the primer about five imes until I felt the pressure increase behind the bulb, hen I adjust the throttle to just above the "Turtle" setting (Exactly as suggested by E Green above). She cranked right up. I wrote the settings on a 3x5 card and tapped it to the instrument panel for future reference. Hopefully none of us will need our snowblowers again between now and Spring Best Regards from Connecticut, Pete
