Too much mowin' seat time...
Original Message   Jun 6, 2005 8:57 pm
Hi...

Mowed my ~3 acre lot in VT this weekend... last mowed 4-5 weeks ago... grass (previous hayfield) was up over my knees...

Ugggghhhh...  three full passes at angles to cut and fully disperse all the clippings... 1st day Friday wasn't too bad... mowed from ~3:30pm to 9:40 pm in the dark with minimal headlights... still didn't get the 1st cut done... slow goin'... got plenty of dried dandelion seeds blowin' in my face...  a few beers and work... slept well...

Started Saturday mowing ~8:30am...  let the grass dry... 85-90 mid-day temps were not fun in the full sun... sunglasses... hat... gloves... and yeah... a few beers... got passes two and three done... a looooong day...  in bed early... woke at 4am... but went back to sleep 'til 6:30am...

Cleaned under the 60" mower deck twice with a putty knife... my least favorite task... greased the spindle bearings and other Gravely joints twice... added plenty of expensive gas... and some engine oil... Gravely is a workhorse...

Why do we try to keep nature "tamed" ???    ...it's a lotta' work !   Isn't it ? Pheww...

Plan on next mowin' trip in two weeks... 1-pass i hope !

You need a sun shade for that thing.

It is a shame when something that can be so enjoyable becomes such a chore....

Emmo,

Is that a picture from inside the Bat Cave?

Yeahhhh... shade is in order... Thanks for the link Termy !  Does the umbrella hold up to 1/2 mile-per-hour ground speed ? LOL...

Can the wagon can hold the cold beer.. !  ...does it have a converyor belt ?

...or maybe... an exotic female with a fan and grapes... ..and capability to operate the beer conveyor...

Plan to re-cut in two weeks from last time... time to change the deck blades to new/sharper...
