Murray's website not updated since 2004
Original Message   May 19, 2005 11:40 am
I don't see much happening at Murray's website, except that you can't order parts directly any more. I can't help but wonder what Briggs & Stratten is gonna do with the product line. They already have ownership of the Simplicity, AGCO, Massey Ferguson lawn and garden lines, and Snapper as well....... and with the inactivity in updating the Murray website, makes me wonder what's gonna happen next. Anyone hear anything through the "grape vine"?

I'd guess better things would come of Murray if Briggs got their hands in it all.    A better website would probably be one.

Joe, after going to their site, I see a ton of products. What do you mean when you say not much going on?

The Murray site I went to is: http://www.murray.com/www/DesktopDefault.aspx

What I ment by not much going on is all the stuff on their site is from 2004 as per the copyrights at the bottom of the page. Products displayed are still 2004 stuff as well. I also went looking for parts support for the Tomahawk chipper line that Murray bought from Troy-Bilt went they got bought out, and found "no parts available" or words to that effect.

Ahh.  You're more observant than I. I didn't check the model years.

State-of-the-art consumer based companies put effort and $$$ into their websites...

Some troubled companies or old-thinking management do not...

"If you're not on the net... you're not known..."

Worse yet... are not-up-to-date websites...

Recently... I made a 1 1/2 hour round trip to a fence retailer that was not there... old web info... and a trusting Dave in CT...

now... I call 1st !
