I bought a new hedge trimmer
Original Message   May 12, 2005 8:15 pm
Hey guys, well I finally made up my mind on a trimmer. I bought the Stihl HL45 I only used it for a min or two today at home.  I went and priced it at my local dealer he told me I could have it for 300.00. Well just for the heck of it I called another place and he said well it runs for 379.00 but its on sale for 330.00 which that is what my dealer sells it for but he took 30.00 off of it beacuse I do alot of business with him. I'll do a full review on it after tomm and sat. it's gonna get broke in thats for sure lol.  later Mike

Very nice Stihl Hedge Trimmer there! I know first hand the quality you get with a Stihl!

Good purchase and that is awsome the dealer brought the cost down by 80 bucks! ...Good Deal...

Take care of that and it should last at least 20 years!

Yea, me either. i looked on their website and it doesn't show 45C, just a 45. I figure it's something new?

It doesn't have handlebars does it?

Very sweet trimmer.  Tell us later how is starts up for ya.  I'm trying to stay away from Stihl because I've heard they have starting problems.  I think mostly on their blowers, but I'm guessing.

Hey Ajace, I'm gonna hate to say this but, they did kinda give me a hard time starting this morning. It took me 5 pulls to get them running. I choked primed the fuel(turn the switch on lol} pulled once turned choke off pulled 2 more finally on 4th pull ran then shut off then 5th pull they run. later Mike

I'm sorry to hear that Mike.  Maybe if you kept pulling until it sputtered or coughed then taken off the choke it might have started better for you.  I'm not sure what Stihl's directions are though.
