Re: Simplicity P1524E request feedback good or bad

Can't say I'm familiar with the 1524 model.  I have a 9528 (9.5 h.p. 28") large frame machine.   Nothing but praise for it.  Simplicity is famous for reliable, long lasting machines.  Go for it.

Good diagnostic work.  For a machine to idle up an incline due to vibration must be rattling quite a bit.   I had an old Craftsman with an L-head 10 h.p. Tecumseh engine that shook worse than a dog crapping razor blades.   My hands would go numb from the vibrations.  The new Simplicity with the B&S overhead valve engine is a pleasure to use by comparison.

If you posted a picture of the problem, it would help to determine which tools would be best for the job.  Possibly a clamp and/or a couple pair of large vice grips to hold one end/side of the auger and bend it back into shape.   Just be careful not to pop the auger shaft out of the end bushings or damage the auger drive gear seal.

Honda.  For that price, it's pretty much a no-brainer.

If, as you say ,  the machine will actually creep up an incline in reverse, that tells me that there must be power getting to the wheels to in order for it to do so.  Maybe you can tell us how the power is getting to the wheels if it's not via the drive system?  Not to challenge you, but it would appear that something is out of adjustment on the drive system.
