Contact Wearers Preparation for Lasik Surgery
Contact wearers should approach Lasik surgery a little differently than eyeglass wearers. Since eye measurements are key to a successful Lasik surgery, you will need to abstain from wearing your contacts for a number of weeks. If you wear soft contact lenses, then wear your glasses for two weeks before your first appointment. Other lenses require three to four weeks before you are measured by the surgeon.
Your cornea is altered due to the contacts and needs time to revert to its normal shape to get the most accurate measurement and most successful vision surgery.
