Keeping your old post count, and rank
Original Message   Jan 13, 2005 4:45 pm
We will make every attempt to make everyone happy, and that includes replicating your old post count and rank on this site. Unfortunately, this process cannot be automated since usernames and even email addresses have changed between the two sites for many users, so it's going to be a manual process.

I would like to call on all moderators and administrators to assist users with this.

NOTE TO MODERATORS: You can actually manipulate a user's points and even their "Date Joined." Please find this feature on the "Edit User" page for each member.

Peter:

Not sure if this is possible.  Could you automatically make the change if the email and user name is the same and generate an exception list for those that are not?

Working off an exception list should be far easier than doing everyone.

If accuracy is your goal you still have a pile of bogus reviews to eliminate.

We've got a smart one here.

That is a good idea, though time may not permit.

Ahh, ChrisS is doing a fine job. Infact, he should be getting close do getting done because even though there were 1500 people at WTB, most of them hardly posted anything to warrent counting posts to this site.

Yup, SS was on page six of the membership page there if I remember correctly.

I "think" I have everyone and I follow up with the new arrivals as they sign up or log in.
