Re: *#@%# ING GAS CAN SPOUTS ! What Can We Do ?

Another vote for NO-SPILL brand if you want a poly can.

(I have the earlier versions without the wings on the caps)

For a metal safety can with all the certs. I really like the Eagle type I safety can in 5 gal size (with the yellow pour funnel). I get mine at TSC. When they are empty, I pour a few ounces of Stabil 360 to keep the interior rust free, but that may not be really needed.

Howdy-

My guess is the rainwater entered through the air filter>>to the crankcase vent fitting on the filter housing>>throught the vent tube into the crankcase. Water can get by the one way valve, if there is one in the vent. Also replace your spark plug.

Re: What to do with my backfiring Briggs Engine on My New Ariens Snowblower

Like the other said, the lean carb jetting, and it could be the ignition timing setting. Your dealer is never going to help you because the factory will void the warranty if the dealer changes what needs changing (carb tuning and maybe the timing) pus the legal issues.

The muffler could also have a catalytic converter inside- take off the muffler and look for a honeycomb plate or chamber inside. You can decide haw to handle that.

I stopped buying the newer OPE and only buy and fix older units. EPA is sheeiit.

Hi;

OK, shut up because we are not getting anything but rain

My future idea: Install a piston and cylinder from the boost port snow commander on my 221QR chassis, and adjust carb jettng if needed.

Really I'm perfectly satisfied with the 221QR as it is!

We only have about 3 weeks left for any chance of snow, so I'm not holding my breath for snow, this will be the third year now without any real snow.

Yes, I love that 85cc Tec, I use it for planting landscape bushes and trees and fence posts. I do take many breaks as it wears me out pretty quickly. Very high quality engine, I was lucky to buy that new. Got an 8" and 2" auger for it.
