DVR Plus HDTV

LG Electronics has come out with a HD combo unit. Their 42 inch LCD High Definition TV (LG42LB1DRA) comes with a built in digital video recorder, saving you the expense of purchasing a separate unit. Nice idea but the execution is not up to LG’s usual standards.

Although the unit produces fairly accurate color, and a sleek package, you can only record one program at a time. Another negative is the off angle deterioration of the image…if you aren’t dead on in front, you lose the impact. There is annoying flicker as well. So, nice idea, but we’ll wait for the next iteration.
