Bud I've been using a hand Steam Cleaner on many of my parts to dislodge grime. Because the steam evaporates immediately, I believe you might be able to use it on metal parts. PM me if you want more info. Lucky

Did I read this right or not.... "RBS led $140 million of senior debt backing ASCP's leveraged buyout of Oreck in March 2003" The Chinese led ASCP has owned Oreck since 2003?

Re: I loves Central Vacuums

I have dealt with central vacuums for a long time and love all the benefits they bring. My site sells units, accessories and parts, but also includes a lot of helpful information.
I actually though the $1,800 price tag was high, unless you paid good money for installation as part of it. Normally all the products for a 1,300 sq. ft home will costs about $1,200 to $1,500 depending on the attachments and vacuum unit, but that is retail. Most people put them in themselves and save. I know locally here in South Florida the going rate is "$150 a drop", any by drop they mean wall inlet. Central vacuums can go into existing homes or new, but keep in mind that if you have a existing home if will be very difficult to install direct connect inlets.

As for the dust, 98% of central vacuums have the option to vent outsite and as mole said, cyclonic of bagless units should be vented outside regardless. You may also vent inside the garage area and use an exhaust filter. This will eliminate the dust without venting outside.

Mike
www.centralvacuumplanet.com
THANKS FOR THE SPAM!

Hi Carmine.

No i did not mean the oreck XL21,proteam is a vacuum company that sells commercial uprights and back packs sold at janitorial supply houses,This machine is the same as the sanitaire 6600,the electrolux commercial upright,Its the best bang for the buck vacuum out there, and its half the retail price of the latter mentioned machines. Its the best secret in the vacuum business, well up to now.98% of the proteams parts interchange with the aerus/electrolux commercial upright, remember the prolux ?

Just so you know with all the infighting between the patents and using logos this product allmost never made it to the industry.Check out PULLMAN-HOLT also they have a variation of this machine also.....

MOLE
Funny I was going to mention the PULLMAN-HOLT as well (seems to have less problems than the proteam) but it didn't meet the required HEPA filtration. Still it would be my recommendation to meet MOST OF THE POSTERS REQUIREMENTS.
