Does the impeller shaft turn inside the auger gear case and if so, are there any unusual grinding sounds? If the shaft is turning and all seems normal in the auger gear case, you probably have broken shear bolts/pins.

I waited until later in the day (gave lots of time for the kid's father to clear the driveway) then went for a walk. As I approached, I could see the tell tale signs of coloured paper spread over a fairly broad area. As I got closer, I noticed that the driveway was only half cleared and the snow thrower silently sitting in the driveway. I took a good look at it from the street and could see that it had a bundle of flyers jambed in the auger and impeller."

Borat, you're my hero, that's what I call divine retribution. Did you ever consider writing short stories?

Yeah. I tried it once. By the time they finished censoring the book, all that was left was the page numbers.

Not likely. Too much good will and knowledge going around here. Makes them uneasy. It's not hard to tell when one of them do appear on this site though. Their contribution is usually a few arrogant quips or condemnation of some sort. Seldom if ever do they actually contribute anything of value. You'll know them when you see them....

I frequently check the other OPE site recently and I didn't notice a sense of the "Ariens" brotherhood going on.  Perhaps they went on and bought a Simplicity, Toro or Honda.  *Wink*

Mebbe da Mashal got run outta town.......

I've been to other OPE sites and they're very much different than this one. Participants here generally need information or share information. Some sites seem to be platforms for brand name advertising and others are more "mine is better than yours" arguments. Sure. It's obvious that we all have our preferences. Nonetheless, everyone seems to chip in and help the other guy regardless of brand loyalty. The maturity of the participants is what makes this site what it is. Lots of knowledge readily shared and easy going informative discussion makes new comers feel welcome.

Did I tell you I was kicked off "The Best OPE Site in theWorld"? Not easy to get an "Ariens Brother" membership if you have a different opinion than theirs......

Yeah...... Their marshall unceremoniously Reebok'd my butt right out of there!!!!!
