Bad Contractors & Bad Workmanship

Beings I now have AC and am interested in how it works and all, and learning more every day, I came across this at the DOITYOURSELF community forum. In my opinion, if you want something done right, you have to DOITYOURSELF!!! Although I understand that this guy has his own limitations to installing a AC unit, he seems to have quite a bit of knowledge as it is. I am upset what he has been going through and hope that he can resolve this. Also, in my opinion, a small claims court is perfect for resolving this issue. Let me also quote Dragon77... (Haven't paid any money to the 2nd company, fortunately, but the 1st one wanted 1/2 upfront - which I recently found out is a direct violation of the State Contractor's Licensing Board's regulations. That is very bad practice and is no where near professionalism

Re: New AC Unit!

I have been using the Energy Saver mode since I installed the unit. On really hot days I set the temp to 70 degrees which kept the room nice and cool but the unit came back on often. Today is not really a hot day so I set the AC temp to 80 degrees so that way it only comes on when the room temp goes above 80. I did test out the lowest 60 degree temp setting and notice the unit stayed on constently and never turned off. I will let you know my findings on power usage when I get our next energy bill, keeping in mind of all the other fans running in the rest of the house though.
