Thanks for the welcome BTW!! I do love Hoover's!  I had a Self proppelled upright that I bought in 1999, I had a couple of problems with it, a switch recall, some arm thing for the self propelled once and of course the yearly flat belt change. But you know I make about $15 an hour and support 3 people on that. I don't own hand knotted silk infused oriental rugs or have shag carpet or have dinner parties where I exhibit my fruity designer vac and have people stroke me over it , so the 279$ (now 199.99 Grrr.) I paid for it back then just as the $299.99 is an absolute crap load of money to me, this canister has a 3 year warranty, my old bagged self propelled had a 1 year warranty, I still have it and it runs great.. I probably would not have even looked for a new vac had I not moved into a rental with a good bit of wood floors. I bet you guys the indy vac shop owners would carry the Hoover brand and here I go to light the fuse.. if you could make money off them..  Shame on Hoover, Maytag, Whirlpool or TTI or who ever the hell owns Hoover for the next 10 minutes now for not helping you guys the mom and pops the "Real" America... I HATE the big box stores.. I would have bought it from an indy store but not a friggin single vac shop in 60 miles (that's as far as I checked) carries Hoover except for the guys at the Hoover Service Center (great service BTW)..Thank you Lord Jesus Hoover still has these shops around.. I JUST WISH THEY WERE MADE IN THE USA!! But if they were I guess we wouldn't have Hoover around anymore or I'd be paying twice what I spent.. I hope my money goes to help out a family like mine in some other developing country have a good meal, a smile and a new toy for the kiddies... That's gotta be the silver lining... I am not sure how many of you heard and or are using Zone Alarm as your personal or business machine firewall but, I have allways believed that it is the best! Just recently another update was available for this program. The update incorperated a built in spyware scanner/remover along with several security fixes. I wanted to let everybody know about this because in our generation of today, almost everyone has a computer and is connected to the internet and with all these hackers and people making viruses, we can't be too careful! To download and buy the firewall if you don't have it, please click here If you already own Zone Alarm and want the update, all you have to do is let the Zone Alarm program to automaticly update

Your right great firewall.. But I find that to many people block some really important stuff just because they do not know what they are looking at.. Next thing ya know java's not updating.. IE's not automatic updating, vpn is blocked, or you run into the triple condom issue with Norton/Mcafee Inet Security Suite, MS Firewall and Zone Alarm all running at the same time fighting tooth and nail with each other.. I like Spybot with the "tea timer" running.. yea I know it's not a firewall, but no system changes occur unless I approve...

Well in light of recent developements you might want to search out a Hoover S3670. the MSRP is $299.99 and seems to be very very very similar to a Meile Silvermoon S5980 ($1200) or as some have reported a Ricaar. I have one and it is SO FRIGGIN' SWEET!! It has a HEPA bag type "S" Hoover part # 4010806S; although any Hoover "S" style will work. Nice n quite, great floor brush, neat convertble tool sooo easy to move around. My best suggestion is locate a Hoover Factory Service Center that has one you can try it's what I did..
