Motorhead's last
Re: New Dyson model...any info?

I too would like to see Dyson introduce a corded hand vac, or at least an optional adapter to run the machine full-time.  Would certainly justify the price a lot more, for most applications.  As much of a Dyson fan as I am, I can't see paying $160 for a glorified Dustbuster, i.e. a vacuum that only runs for a short time.  My thought when the DC16 was introduced was that it was going to be a "real" hand vac that could be used for a lot more than just quick pick-ups.  The DC16 Motorhead could be a very good contender for upholstery and car cleaning (perhaps even mattress cleaning), as well as small jobs, if either the run time was extended or it was corded.

P.S.  Sorry I have not posted in a while, I'm sort of disappointed at the lack of activity here lately.  We need to get more interesting discourse going, both Dyson-related and non-Dyson-related

But wait, I thought you earlier said, "Simplicity is a very well-made brand that will last for many years to come, so plan on keeping the machine at least 15 years (as I've seen).  And with the sealed HEPA system you won't have to worry about picking up lead paint chips, either".

The Simplicity/Riccar canisters have a very good bag system.  The bag collar slides into the holder and is not able to come out easily.  The compartment lid will not close if said bag is not installed properly.  All anyone has to do is read the instruction manual of any vacuum cleaner they purchase.  Then they should have no trouble at all.  These HiFlow HEPA bags are the second generation.  The first used sticky paper to cover the bag opening, to seal be bag, when the bag was removed.  Now, all one has to do is pull the tab on the collar, which closes the bag opening.

As for the Perfect brand.  No, that is not the new name for Electrolux.  ABElectrolux and Aerus have no business w/the company who has the machine made for them, in China.

Like the Tacony uprights, I had assumed that the canisters were made in the US as well but I recently found out they are not, much to my surprise.  When I said the machine would last close to 15 years, it was the upright I was referring to.  Is the Simplicity Verve made by Daewoo in Korea, by LG, or someone else?

Hello Motor:

I would agree on the Miele bags.  Excellent craftsmanship.  Well worth the price.  Miele takes great pride in its bags and devotes alot of careful attention to their details.

Would you say that the Electrolux bags, even Genuine, with the cardboard collars and rubber seals become deformed and then adrift and leak dirt/dust?  Or is Lux an exception to your "cardboard collar bags coming adrift?"

Obviously you have never seen a Perfect bag.  The cardboard collar is as thick as it was on the Model LX "wrapper".  There is no way it could bend in, and there's also no way the dirt could go anywhere except *into* the bag due to the two rubber seals in place.  One on the inside of the bag cover, and one on the bag itself.

Hey I just got one at my Hoover Service Center $299.99... and I got plenty of Free HEPA BAGS... I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS VAC.. I hope this is a sign of  better things to come.. One of the service guys mentioned something about a new Hoover Diamond Line comming out in 2009.. Anyway Cleaning my socks off.. just wanted to see if anyone else on the internet had a review of this vac.. BUY IT... LOVE IT!!

Hoovergroover, did you know you have a Dirt Devil?  This canister is sold in Europe as the Allegra model M7000.  Very nice machine, however, you mention that the Hoover store gave you some bags.  Just wondering if those 3 bags have a picture of the round Hoover Constellation on the front of the package.  If it does, those are not the right bags for your machine.  The correct bags have all of the writing on the bag in blue printing and have a picture of YOUR vacuum (the Dirt Devil Allegra) on the front cover.  While the bags do claim to be Type S bags (like the Constellation), they are different from the Constellation bags.  The bags for the Dirt Devil Allegra (oops, I mean Hoover Windtunnel) actually have a large piece of plastic in the bottom of the bag to deflect the airstream, keeping the dirt from penetrating the bag (like a Miele bag is designed).  In the Constellation, the motor is directly under this portion where the plastic would be; the machine would not be able to work correctly with the WindTunnel S bag in place as the air is drawn downward, and the motor would likely burn up.  They ARE two separate bags even though both are S bags and they look alike.

One of my friends bought one the day they came out.  He likes it but complains about the lack of a swivel power nozzle connection constantly.  Very difficult to use and doesn't steer at all, hindering its ability to be used under beds and such.

Enjoy your Dirt Devil Hoover!

Hi H.S. nice to hear from you, the only bottle i hit is the NITROUS BOTTLE BUTTON.

did you put the blower on your skate board yet?

Have you found a vacuum that you understand how to use yet??????????????

MOLE

THAT'S something else that's wrong with you!  It's not poppers, it's poison.  You shouldn't be snorting nitrous much less drinking it.
